Tyree is about Viktor; a mute son of the Moon that wasn’t supposed to exist. He strikes a deal with the god of his village to return Death’s sword to her temple in hope of winning her favor and being turned fully human. His trek soon turns dangerous as he travels through a war torn country full of invaders, monsters, and angry gods.
The comic is inspired by pre-hispanic mesoamerica and deals with themes of grief, war, trauma, and discovering yourself.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Tyree is written and drawn by C.E. Chant a.k.a. “Hades”. Hades is best known for their past work on Vagary [Ark], Field Guide, and freelancing as a colorist. They are simply a small round alligator living in the Florida woods. Tyree is their ultimate passion project and obsession that has been thirteen years in the making.
